Ende August verwandelt sich das Schaumbad – Freies Atelierhaus Graz in ein utopisches Ressort der Sonderklasse und zelebriert das erste Grazer Impro Fest. Neun Tage lang checken inter-/nationale Künstler:innen und Kollektive und alle anderen Experimentierfreudigen zum gemeinsamen Improvisieren ein. Und das natürlich all inklusive: Es wird gesungen und getönt, Instrumente gebaut und musiziert, gekocht und vernetzt, performt und nach den theoretischen und strukturellen Voraussetzungen des perfekten Impro-Flows gesucht. Ein Angebot für Körper, Geist und Seele, mitten in der postindustriellen Naturbrache: Ist doch alles nur improvisiert.

CONCERT STIO (Styrian Improvisers Orchestra) feat. Charlotte Hug
Das STIO wurde 2012 von V:NM Graz gegründet und besteht aus einem Pool an ca 40 Musiker:innen der steirischen Improvisationsszene und einer Anzahl an fluktuierenden Musiker:innen wie auch Gastmusiker:innen und -dirigent:innen weltweit. Die Instrumentierung des Orchesters variiert drastisch und inkludierte bis dato Blasinstrumente, Streichinstrumente, Tasteninstrumente, Stimmen, Perkussion, elektronische und computergesteuerte Instrumente, selbst präparierte bzw. selbst gebaute Instrumente und auch »Ethno«-Instrumente. Am 26. August wird die Musikerin und Visual Artist Charlotte Hug mit dem Orchester ein Konzertprogramm erarbeiten.

Yuri Landman ist Musiker und Erfinder von Musikinstrumenten. Er hat experimentelle Instrumente für Bands wie Sonic Youth, Einstürzende Neubauten, dEUS, Melt-Banana, Rhys Chatham, Ex-Easter Island Head, Half Japanese und andere gebaut.
Richard »Richie« Herbst ist österreichischer Klangaktivist aus Graz. Neben seiner Leidenschaft für Field Recordings liegt sein Interesse in der Kreation von Klanglandschaften mit modularen Synthesizern und Effekten. Richie Herbst ist Teil des klingt.org-Kollektivs.
Marcin Morga lebt in Wien und ist Musiker, Komponist und Produzent seit jungen Jahren. Tätig in den Gebieten der Ernsten- (sic) und Unterhaltungsmusik. Aktiv in zahlreichen Bands, Projekten und Ensembles. Konzerte in AT, DE, ITA, UK, PL, NL, AUS und Korea.

At the end of August, Schaumbad – Freies Atelierhaus Graz turns into a utopian resort of a special kind and celebrates the first Graz Impro Fest. For nine days, inter/national artists and collectives and all other experimenters will check in – to improvise together. And, of course, all inclusive: there will be singing and sounding, building instruments and making music, cooking and networking, performing and searching for the theoretical and structural prerequisites of the perfect impro flow. An offer for body, mind and soul, in the middle of the post-industrial natural wasteland: It’s all just improvisation.

CONCERT STIO (Styrian Improvisers Orchestra) feat. Charlotte Hug
STIO was founded in 2012 by V:NM Graz and consists of a pool of about 40 musicians from the Styrian improvisation scene and a number of fluctuating musicians as well as guest musicians and conductors worldwide. The instrumentation of the orchestra varies drastically and has included wind instruments, string instruments, keyboard instruments, voices, percussion, electronic and computer-controlled instruments, self-prepared or self-built instruments and also „ethno“ instruments. On August 26, musician and visual artist Charlotte Hug will work with the orchestra on a concert program.

Yuri Landman is a musician and inventor of musical instruments. He has built experimental instruments for bands such as Sonic Youth, Einstürzende Neubauten, dEUS, Melt-Banana, Rhys Chatham, Ex-Easter Island Head, Half Japanese and others.
Richard „Richie“ Herbst is an Austrian sound activist from Graz. Besides his passion for field recordings, his interest lies in creating soundscapes with modular synthesizers and effects. Richie Herbst is part of the klingt.org collective.
Marcin Morga lives in Vienna and has been a musician, composer and producer since a young age. Active in the fields of serious (sic) and light music. Active in numerous bands, projects and ensembles.
