Ende August verwandelt sich das Schaumbad – Freies Atelierhaus Graz in ein utopisches Ressort der Sonderklasse und zelebriert das erste Grazer Impro Fest. Neun Tage lang checken inter-/nationale Künstler:innen und Kollektive und alle anderen Experimentierfreudigen zum gemeinsamen Improvisieren ein. Und das natürlich all inklusive: Es wird gesungen und getönt, Instrumente gebaut und musiziert, gekocht und vernetzt, performt und nach den theoretischen und strukturellen Voraussetzungen des perfekten Impro-Flows gesucht. Ein Angebot für Körper, Geist und Seele, mitten in der postindustriellen Naturbrache: Ist doch alles nur improvisiert.

WORKSHOP Meet4Music, Drumcircle mit Raphael Meinhart
Der Drumcircle ist eine vom US-amerikanischen Musiker Arthur Hull entwickelte Kollektivimpro-Performance auf Percussionsinstrumenten. Für die Teilnehmenden sind keine Vorkenntnisse vonnöten, jede und jeder kann mitmachen. Gemeinsam mit Facilitator Raphael Meinhart werden Grooves von langsam bis schnell, von leise bis laut und von hoch bis tief performt und so das Schaumbad zum Klingen gebracht. Instrumente vorhanden.

Der GIK – Grazer Impro Klub begreift sich als Plattform zur Erhaltung, Konsolidierung und Pflege der musikalischen Praxis der Improvisation und des genrebefreiten musikalischen Experiments. Spontan kuratiert und moderiert von Patrick Wurzwallner und bestückt mit hochkarätigen Gästen manifestiert der GIK einen wohlwollenden und möglichst inklusiven Raum zur Ermöglichung einer kollektiven Risikopraxis. At the end of August, Schaumbad – Freies Atelierhaus Graz turns into a utopian resort of a special kind and celebrates the first Graz Impro Fest. For nine days, inter/national artists and collectives and all other experimenters will check in – to improvise together. And, of course, all inclusive: there will be singing and sounding, building instruments and making music, cooking and networking, performing and searching for the theoretical and structural prerequisites of the perfect impro flow. An offer for body, mind and soul, in the middle of the post-industrial natural wasteland: It’s all just improvisation.

WORKSHOP Meet4Music, Drum-circle with Raphael Meinhart
The Drumcircle is a collective improvised performance on percussion instruments developed by US musician Arthur Hull. No previous experience is necessary for the participants, anyone can join in. Together with facilitator Raphael Meinhart, grooves are performed from slow to fast, from soft to loud and from high to low, making the bubble bath resound. Instruments available.

The GIK – Grazer Impro Klub sees itself as a platform for the preservation, consolidation and cultivation of the musical practice of improvisation and genre-free musical experimentation.
